Hi my name is Delena. You may not recognize me by the picture on the right, but this is my spine. I was diagnosed with scoliosis as a child and it eventually necessitated surgery to put in the rods and stop the curve from progressing. The surgery did stop the scoliosis from getting worse, but through the years I developed significant back pain. I also had quite a bit of muscle spasm from my back being twisted. Over the past two years I had neck pain gradually getting worse which caused headaches on and off. I had tried several things to decrease the pain including massage therapy and physical therapy. The massage would usually help the pain and muscle tightness, but it took a long time and it would tighten back up within a few days. During the past couple years I also went to two different chiropractors thinking they could help the low back and neck pain. Both times they took a look at my history and the x-ray on the right and decided they couldn't help me.
About a month ago I was talking with a friend about the back pain and headaches. He suggested that I see his chiropractor. I was less than optimistic considering my past experience, but my pain was bad enough
I was ready to try again. Dr. Gusso discussed the problems I was having with me, took updated x-rays and scheduled me to begin care. Within 2 adjustments I notice a lot of improvement and within two weeks I felt
great. Needless to say this was much quicker than I expected. I have very little back pain
or headaches and now I can enjoy things that I couldn't before: stair climber, exercise, and play with my kids. I am more optimistic about the future of my health without constantpain and headaches. Considering the scoliosis I know that I will need to be adjusted regularly to maintain the improvement I am now enjoying. This is a very small investment in a much better and healthier life.
